ALEXIS

Alexis has been helping organizations with communication services since the 1980s, and providing learning and development solutions since the mid-1990s.

Before forming Uptake (2002), her career snapshot primarily comprises 19 years in the consulting industry (in the areas of organizational communications, pension and benefits), and 9 years in adult education/corporate training. Fuelled by a need for occasional non-conformity, and the opportunity to join others in ‘out of the box’ thinking, Alexis peppered those primary career years with stints in arts management, marketing, and fundraising.

A graduate of both the Public Relations, and the Arts and Cultural Management Programs (MacEwan University), and the CACE adult educator program (University of Alberta), Alexis is also an Emotional Fitness Coach. As a lifelong learner, she is pursuing credentialing in the field of positive psychology, and researching learning content that embraces new and emerging leadership concepts for organizations.

Alexis (a writer at heart – who people say makes sense out of nonsense) authored and published Retirement Groove: Finding Yours!™  - a book she describes as positive psychology 101, framed through the lens of life’s next act.

She is known as an innovative instructor and a creative thinker. Her guiding purpose is to make life better for organizations and their people.

Retirement Groove: Finding Yours!™ is available for purchase on Amazon.com.

The book is also available at special discounts for bulk purchases, for sales promotions, or for corporate use. Special editions, including personalized covers, excerpts, or books with corporate logos can be created in large quantities for special needs.
